About

Michelle, born Colombian and Dutch, currently lives in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. In 2015 she received her BFA in photography at The School of Visual Arts, New york. For 5 years she lived there, studying and working as a freelance photographer. However also assisting photography workshop at SVA and creating projects with HATCH Series artist collective. Once back in Amsterdam she started learning design and advertising at KesselsKramer, as well as with Jimmy Nelson's chief designer. Currently she is working as an Art producer at Jimmy Nelson Pictures, in addition to starting off her freelance business M. C. L. Photography which focusses on Portraiture and fine art work. Her creative curiosity lies in the right now and what makes peoples lives and enviroments change. By working with various mediums she tries to express contradictions she sees around. She experiments with photography, painting, installation, film and design work.
